About Atherton Running Club
The Atherton Running Club
Was Established in 2010
Hi Fellow Runners
You have reached the site of the Atherton Running Club. We are a friendly group of runners based in Atherton in Greater Manchester.
We were established as an affiliated running club in 2010. We are members of the Association of Running Clubs (also coincidentally called ARC!!)
We train twice a week from the main car park on Mealhouse Lane in Atherton. We meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30pm. You may have seen us out and about in Atherton sporting our signature red tops!!
As I said we train twice a week and run any distances from 3 – 8 miles. We don’t have any minimum pace requirements and we never leave people behind. We prefer meeting people to beating people. We have been described by members as an inclusive group of friendly runners!!
We can also be seen at a number of running events across the country.
We also go on adventurous runs over fields and far away over the weekend.
Some of our members have competed at distances anywhere from 5k right up to overnight ultra marathons.
